Cocker Spaniel - Dexter - Small - Adult - Male - Dog
Dexter is an adult (probably 4 years old) male Peke/Cocker mix from a high kill pound in Kentucky. He is a great little dog with all people and good with most dogs, but he does tend to have the little dog fear aggression towards some bigger dogs that frighten him. Therefore, he would not be a dog that could visit dog parks and will need training if his new home happens to be in an urban area. He would do best in a home with adults. Dexter has very strong "hunting instincts" and reacts aggessively to small animals including cats. Dexter is crate trained and very clean in his space and his housebreaking manners are coming along. He walks well on a leash and enjoys walks on our rural roads with his favorite dog walker. Dexter will need basic obedience training and lots of attention from his humans in order to become the wonderful dog he is capable of being. He will need a home where someone can spend time with him during the day and where he will not be left along for long periods of time. Dexter's adoption fee is $250 and includes his vaccinations, heartworm testing, and neutering.
